came across this tonight, thought I’d help by reporting my state.  i guess add that to the right-wing nut who killed the cat to threaten a Democrat.

+4 to Arkansas for a localized offense. (This was from last July, but always helps to post this for the book-keeping.)

I’ve read some of the comments on Huffington Post, and people who know about the school’s grading system say that the second girl took more, easier classes, so had a lower GPA, while the first girl took less classes but they were harder. So, in a sense, in order to not penalize the second girl for taking more classes, they were named co-valedictorians. just wanted to let you (and others) know about this.

Penalize the second girl for taking more classes?  How does that work?  When you take easier classes it results in a lower GPA.  When you take challenging courses above the high school level, you get a higher GPA because you have to do more to earn a good grade.  The point is not that the second girl took more classes.  The point is that the first girl took more challenging classes, essentially worked harder, got better grades, and was not rewarded for her effort.  She was forced to share what she earned with someone else who had not earned it.  The reason she was not rewarded for her effort was because someone decided that having a black valedictorian would be “a big mess” and look bad.
